Sam Enriquez

Position: Controller

Sam is the Controller in our accounting department. Her responsibilities include full cycle accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and budgeting. One thing she enjoys about her role is closing the accounting books and having the ability to openly discuss results with the board of directors and be part of important financial decisions.

Sam joined SUNDEK with 10 years of accounting experience in various industries (service, dermatology, manufacturing, and construction). She earned her bachelor’s in accounting and focused her master’s degree on accounting by getting a MAcc (Master of Accountancy) instead of an MBA.

Three things Sam loves: animals, Christmas, and Margaritaville.

She has 5 cats, 2 dogs (one blind dog), a bearded dragon, and many fish that she enjoys staying home and spending time with. There is also a stray cat that visits her nightly so she is building a home for it outside. To her, Christmas is more than just a holiday, it is her favorite time of year (beginning in September and put away in February). She decorates 7 Christmas trees throughout her home and has an outdoor light show set to music each year. Despite living in the middle of Texas, Sam loves Margaritaville and the beach lifestyle. She got to see Jimmy Buffet in concert before he passed, which was a bucket list item for her. Now, if there is a Margaritaville wherever she vacations, she stops to get a souvenir for her game room which is in fact Margaritaville themed.
